Retailers, service providers and proprietors in Oberhausen’s city centre have created the special interest group CityO.-Management.
A signed cooperation agreement defines the city management tasks and responsibilities that the City Marketing unit of Tourismus- & Marketing Oberhausen GmbH (TMO) has to perform and specifies that the head of City Marketing Franz Muckel also serves in the capacity of city manager for the city centre.
Moreover, the city manager acts as executive member of the managing board.
In cooperation and consensus with actors located in the city centre, key responsibilities of the city management include the following:
- Strengthening and positioning of the city centre’s imageIncreasing its attractiveness and quality of atmosphere
- Moderating working groups (owners, retailers, etc.)
- Shopping street management
- Event management
- Managing the daily market held at Altmarkt
- Public relations
- Cooperation and coordination with the city administration, the special interest groups of other neighbourhoods and with other special interest associations and groups.Expanding, strengthening and managing the CityO.Management.
