Since its grand opening in September of 1996, the ARENA Oberhausen, which can accommodate 12,600 people, has pushed the envelope when it comes to live entertainment. With over 100 events hosted every year, the ARENA attracts far more than 800,000 visitors per year. Some of its most noteworthy features include its functionality and flexibility in terms of technology, ticket and guest services, marketing and catering services. Owing to its modern design, all of the approx. 10,000 seats permanently installed on two levels offer an optimum view. The excellent acoustics and minimum setup times are additional essential elements of the ARENA’s services. The resounding successes of “Riverdance” and “Lord of the Dance”, the premiere of Germany’s most popular music festival “The DOME”, the European premiere of the internationally successful figure skating show “Worldstars on Ice” starring Katarina Witt, major boxing matches, star tenors like Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli, popular rock groups and pop singers ranging from R.E.M., OASIS and Die Toten Hosen through to Herbert Grönemeyer, Joe Cocker and Whitney Houston as well as successful dance shows like STOMP and Tap Dogs have helped König Pilsener ARENA become one of the most important event locations in Germany.
