Today, culture sets the pace where Oberhauseners used to go swimming. The former public swimming pool, located at Ebertplatz, was constructed as one of the first public swimming baths in the German Empire in 1894/95. It was transformed into a centre for cultural activities in Oberhausen. Built in Art Nouveau style, Ebertbad offers the ideal setting for cabaret, theatrical plays, TV programmes, conventions or dances. The former swimming facility is now equipped with state-of-the-art sound and light equipment and capable of seating approx. 400 persons or offering standing room for 1000 persons.
