Lichtburg Filmpalast
The Lichtburg-Filmpalast is a traditional movie theatre in Oberhausen’s city centre.Centrally located only 7 minutes by foot from Oberhausen’s main station, the Filmpalast has been modernised with an attractive exterior and interior design. It is also the venue for Oberhausen’s International Short Film Festival and the regional Children’s Film Festival in the Ruhr.
All five cinemas have been equipped with the latest state of technology – Dolby Digital Systems, whereas the largest cinema has Lucas Film THX Sound System – while carefully attending to the interests of movie-goers with the selection of movies offered and by maintaining its very individual atmosphere inside the Lichtburg Filmpalast. There are three ticket booths and four concession stands to ensure good service. Lichtburg’s management is also very approachable, offering the possibility of responding to movie requests. Thus, movie-goers can enjoy the entire spectrum, from popularly requested movies, arthouse and new releases through to commercial films.
The cinemas are also available for events, presentations, lectures, celebrations, workshops, etc. The heart of the movie theatre – the large Lichtburgsaal – features a stage as well.The COFFEE CORNER serves outstanding coffee and has the right ambience for before, during and after a movie or any other event.

Village Cinemas at CentrO
The Village Cinemas complex includes 9 cinemas, capable of accommodating more than 2,500 people. All the cinemas are air-conditioned. Every Tuesday and Thursday are discount days, whereas sneak previews are shown on Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. Special events are possible by arrangement.
