The Wochenmarkt (daily market) can be found in Oberhausen’s city centre, taking place Monday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Up to 40 merchants are on hand, selling a wide variety of goods on the Marktstraße opposite the church Herz-Jesu. On sunny days, the atmosphere at the Altmarkt, Oberhausen’s old marketplace, lends an almost southern European flair to Oberhausen.
The merchants offer a broad selection of goods and products for every season, including subject to seasonal influences:
- Fruit, vegetables and potatoes
- Flowers, garden and spice plants
- Bread and bakery products
- Eggs and poultry
- Meat, sausages and seafood
- Specialty foods, spices and honey
- Cheese specialties
- Curtains and textiles, vacuum cleaner articles
The daily market is operated by the CityO.-Management, the special interest group organised by proprietors, retailers and service providers located in Oberhausen’s city centre.
